Effects of Population Density on Survival, Development Time, Fecundity and Hatchability of <i>Samia cynthia ricini</i> Boisduval

چکیده
Samia cynthia ricini Boisduval Lepidoptera:Saturniidae is a lepidopteran insect that has gregarious behaviour during their larval stage. This research aimed to determine the minimum population limit of larvae can support survival S. c. by observing development time, fecundity, and hatchability eggs produced adult moths under different densities rearing conditions. The was conducted lifecycle at densities. results showed density had effect on time egg only. Population also affects fecundity ricini. A 30 required success ricini’slife. reared this highest rate, faster heavier cocoon shell weight fecundity.
